Vegas Rollers
The Vegas Rollers were a professional tennis team competing in World TeamTennis (WTT) since their founding in 2019. Their participation brought top-tier tennis to Las Vegas, and the team quickly became a favorite in the league. Key players included the legendary Bryan Brothers, who retired from professional tennis in 2020 after a highly successful career. The Rollers played a fast-paced format that combined singles, doubles, and mixed doubles in each match, offering a unique team-based tennis experience.

2020 Season and Transition
The 2020 season saw significant adjustments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of the regular home-and-away matches, all WTT teams, including the Vegas Rollers, played at The Greenbrier in West Virginia. This condensed schedule maintained the competitive edge of the season, and fans were able to follow the Rollers closely via the WTT official site and broadcasts. The Rollers featured in many tight contests throughout the season, making it a memorable year despite the circumstances.
Updates for 2024-2025
After the pandemic-era challenges, WTT experienced some restructuring, and as of 2024, the Vegas Rollers franchise has not been active. The WTT format has seen further changes, with new teams rising in prominence, such as the Chicago Smash and Orlando Storm. While the Rollers have not returned for the 2024-2025 season, other events like the Las Vegas Tennis Open continue to bring high-level tennis to the region. The Las Vegas Open, held in September 2024, highlights the city’s continuing passion for tennis despite the Rollers’ absence.
ATP Announces 2025 Tour Calendar
Updates and improvements:
- Expansion of ATP Masters 1000 tournaments: The National Bank Open and Cincinnati Open will extend to 12-day formats in 2025. This change will bring seven out of nine ATP Masters 1000 events to the 12-day structure, continuing the expansion that began in 2023 with the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, Mutua Madrid Open, and Rolex Shanghai Masters.
- A total of 16 ATP 500 events will take place, up from 13 in 2024, following upgrades to the Dallas Open, Qatar ExxonMobil Open (Doha), and BMW Open (Munich).
- Introduction of additional weeks featuring parallel ATP 500 events, which will increase focus on this category and provide a more unified experience for fans.
- Major season-ending events: The Nitto ATP Finals will return for its fifth edition in Turin, the Next Gen ATP Finals, presented by PIF, will mark its third year in Jeddah, and the Davis Cup Finals will conclude the season.
ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi commented: “Next season will bring further enhancements to the ATP Tour’s top-tier events within a more streamlined calendar. This aligns with the goals of our OneVision strategy, which aims to offer the best experience for fans. Last season set a new milestone with a record-breaking five million fans attending our events, and this is just the beginning of what we believe to be a bright future for the sport.”
Additional changes to the 2025 calendar include:
- The Hamburg Open (ATP 500) will move from July to May.
- The Cordoba Open (ATP 250) will relocate to Mallorca, as part of the build-up to Wimbledon.
- The Mifel Tennis Open by Telcel Oppo (Los Cabos, ATP 250) will shift from February to July.
Due to these scheduling changes, the Estoril tournament, which has operated under an ATP license since 2015, is not currently listed on the calendar. However, the ATP is working closely with the tournament
Fan Engagement and Sponsorship
During their active years, the Vegas Rollers emphasized fan engagement through social media, live streaming of matches, and merchandise sales. Partnerships with local sponsors like MGM Resorts helped support the team’s community activities, including charity events and local tennis outreach programs.
Looking to the future, Spribe, the developer of the globally popular game Aviator, has announced its plans to become an official sponsor of various sporting events in 2025. This includes extending its reach into the tennis world, which will further enhance fan engagement and contribute to the ongoing promotion of the sport in Las Vegas. With support from major sponsors like Spribe, the vibrant tennis culture in the region is expected to grow, offering new opportunities for fans and players alike.
